 As an out of state patient, you will be required to stay in the area for one week after your surgery. Many of our patients choose to stay at the beautiful Short Hills Hilton Hotel. We can help you arrange you stay in the area, or you are welcome to set up the reservations yourself. We do have several other hotels in the immediate area that are available for your stay.
Private duty nurses are available for all the hotels we deal with, however, we find that they are not necessary.
After your operation, the Dietitian, Metabolic Specialist Physician, Bariatric Nursing Co-coordinator and Physical Therapist will see you. Those patients who choose to have the Gastric Bypass will be in the hospital for 2-3 nights. Those who choose the Lap Band will be in the hospital overnight.
We do recommend that you find a metabolic physician in your area for continued follow up. The alternative is to travel to see us every 3-6 months for for the first two years after your surgery and then annually there after.
